The latest project I've been working on uses LINQ/SQL to handle our data access layer. I must say, it works pretty well. I've used code generation tools like netTiers/Codesmith before, and they worked well. But LINQ is integrated nicely into the .Net/SQL world, whereas netTiers was a serious pain in the butt to use with source control.
Its nice not having to write any data access code, and accessing collections of data with SQL-esque statements directly in the code.
Are you kidding? You are kidding right? Is this really the kind of thing that registers as "clever" in the mind of an Obama supporter? Because if it is, and around half the country supports Obama, our country is doomed.
Jesus is not a community organizer. The view these hippies have of Jesus is incorrect, blasphemous, and historically inaccurate. These are the same people who worship Barack Apollo Obama (the Annointed One) above Jesus Christ (Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, True God of True God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father...) People who would even consider seriously comparing Obama to Jesus probably don't even know what the inside of a church looks like.
Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind. Obama may think he's some kind of savior, but he's just another foul politician and sinner.
The one thing they got right, however, is that Sarah ...
Turns out he does have a few. Well, not so much accomplishments as legislative action he supported... The list of legislation he supported, which were passed is rather interesting though.
Turns out he's a White Sox fan. I don't know about you, but that's the reason I'm not voting for him.
Mad Rocket Scientist just got slapped with a restraining order. It is a nasty legal tactic used by filthy scum to keep from being evicted. If anyone has experience dealing with bogus restraining orders, hop on over and offer any advice you have.
If I were in his shoes, I'd be steaming mad right now. Crap like this just pisses me off to no end. The fact that its gonna cost him thousands of dollars that he'll never get back makes it even worse. All because some stupid filthy punks would rather play legal games than get their sh*t together.
My wife just sent me a message to let me know that the sign on I-79 when you cross the Pennsylvania border into West Virginia no longer says "open for business" like we are full of hookers or something. It is back to saying "Wild and Wonderful" as it should.
Wife and I were howling. Piper has both Malia Ann and Natasha beat hands down in the cuteness arena.
Speaking of which, did you know that Obama named one of his kids after the archetype female Soviet spy? (Hey, if the Dems are gonna attack Palin's kids, I have no problem bringing the Obama family into the ring. Goose, gander and suchlike.)
You think Kos is bad? How about the Huffington post? Well, here's some serious pants-wetting, which I am sad to say comes out of my home state.
If you have a good gag reflex, go ahead and read through some of it... most of the time they are happy to attack Shelly Moore Capito, West Virginia's only Republican congresswoman. But as good democrats, they also jumped on the Hate Sarah Palin Bandwagon.
I've said before that I am encouraged that everyone is making a big deal about comparing the Republican #2 to the Democrat #1. Last night, Sarah made sure that continued by holding herself up to Obama. I think it is generally true that most people vote for the top of the ticket, and this tactic is making it clear that the top of the Democratic ticket can't even hold a candle to the bottom of the Republican ticket.
I also liked Guiliani's metaphor about two people applying for an important job that relates to the safety of your family... redact the name and party affiliation from each resume before deciding who to hire... if you think about it that way, I can't even fathom how Obama got past the first round of interviews.
Ok, I'm kidding about the heresy. But I really don't agree with him here. I don't have a problem with the Secret Service defining a "gun free zone" around a candidate... When there is an event like this, there are plenty of police on hand, and I honestly wouldn't feel a need or desire to carry inside of the limited "sterile" area. But outside the metal detectors, rights are rights. What if John Noble had been another 500 yards away? What if he had been in a building across the street? What if he was in a private residence with a line-of-sight to the place where a candidate was giving a speech? What about on the other side of town? Where can you draw the line and say "you have no right to carry a weapon here"? As far as I'm concerned, that line is, and must be, no more than the gates and metal detectors surrounding the immediate event.
Jerry says it makes responsible gun owners look bad. Perhaps. But I think it makes gun owners look bad when they sit back ...
People buy and sell items via Craigslist all the time, but you have to be smart about it. Would you ever invite a complete stranger into your home under normal circumstances? Then why do it just because they say they say they want to buy your XBox?
There is always some amount of risk involved when dealing with strangers, valuable goods, and cash, but you can use common sense when conducting CL transactions:
Meet in an open, public location if possible
Meet where there are other people nearby
Meet during the day
Don't meet anyone alone
Be aware of your surroundings
Don't bring large quantities of cash
Don't be afraid to back out if something feels wrong
Don't implicitly trust anyone you meet online
Always make sure you know where your assets and liabilities are, and where possible escape routes are.
Finally, know how to defend yourself.
I buy and sell on Craigslist all the time, but I don't ever allow myself to get into dangerous situations. Any time someone ...
There are times when you get a case of the the cruffles* looking at beat up old Swedish rifles... then there are the incurable cruffles caused by weapons like these which I'll never be able to afford.
