I was just looking over the Florida Concealed Weapons Permit statistics page and thought, "I wonder what that looks like plotted?"

So... I plotted newly issued licenses over the last nine years (all the complete data available). I also included a plot of the number of permits revoked. I didn't do a trend line for revocation data because the trend is flat, and would therefore cover up the actual line.
Additional stats from 10/1/1987 (when shall issue licensing was passed) to 10/31/2008 (the last full month of data available):
1,408,907 licenses have been issued.
533,181 of those are current and active.
166 have been revoked due to a gun-related crime. |
