Looks like Congress is sticking their nose into our business again.
But what else is new?
I personally use CFLs almost exclusively because I save money on electricity, and they last longer so I buy bulbs regularly and don't have to climb ladders as often.
Now, for the enviro-nazis who think they are a "Good Thing", remember that CFLs contain mercury which isn't as good in landfills as glass and slightly charred tungsten. Clean water is more important to me than some knee-jerk holy-shit-we're-all-going-to-die greenhouse gas nonsense. So once the whole catastrophic man-made global warming pant-shitting runs its course, I'll wager that the next thing the government bans is mercury containing bulbs. See the cycle here?
Regardless, where in the constitution does it say "Congress shall have the power to regulate what kind of fucking lightbulbs are allowed in the private dwellings of the people." Exactly. Nowhere. The market is going to choose CFLs anyway. Let capitalism work. Now go on and get the hell out of my light sockets, you power-hungry congress critters. |
