Ugh. I don't have the mental capacity this late at night to bother talking about it in depth... but ugh. That pretty much expresses my feelings about it.
i have two problems and a solution. Problem: 1. there are too many stray cats in the world. 2. those who make minimum wage have trouble buying food and clothing for themselves or their families. Solution: Harvest stray cats.
Think about the benefeits: a. you skin the cats (theres more than one way) and use the fur to make cat leather, fur products, etc. b. you have cat meat, to make into delicious foods of your choice (i hear mcdonalds has some awesome isoflavinoid technology that could make it taste like a big mac) c. bob barker stops telling us to have our pets spayed or neutered. in fact, the stray cat lobby could become so powerful that he actually gets paid to say on tv - "folks, if you're sitting around, not doing anything - why not go out and get your cat laid?"
Where have I heard the stray cat solution before? It's kinda like a modern Modest Proposal... is that Original Joe(TM)?
I've got a general op-ed written up about minimum wage, but I haven't finished editing it... just the news out of congress made me throw up in my mouth a little.
It is obvious why so many people support this kind of bullshit, but not only is it going to screw all of us who make more than min. wage, but it is gonna screw the people who make min. wage too! It'll screw the entire country, and give China a huge boost at the same time. Anyone who can't see that is clearly a moron. Clearly.
