    100 Things Meme Comment
    Gregory Morris, 12/3/08 6:32:37 pm
Ok. I'll do it. I hear there's a new blogosphere law saying you must participate in one-meme-a-month.

*1. Started your own blog. - Check.
*2. Slept under the stars. - Not yet in FL, but all the time in WV.
    *3. Played in a band. - Don't ask.
    4. Visited Hawaii. - 'Spensive. Maybe when I win the lottery.
*5. Watched a meteor shower. - Some of my fondest memories are laying on top of a mountain, in the middle of nowhere, on top of piles of blankets with a bunch of friends staring at the night sky.
*6. Given more than you can afford to charity. - When you make a commitment, you follow through.
*7. Been to Disneyland. - Just got back.
*8. Climbed a mountain. - Oh hell yes. WV doesn't have any Kilimanjaros, but I've topped out thousands of feet above where I started.
*9. Held a praying mantis. - One time we found a nest in our christmas tree. We saved it until spring when it hatched. Baby mantises (mantii?) are super damn cute.
*10. Sang a solo. - In honor choir in 6th grade. Dork? Me?
    11. Bungee jumped. - Meh.
    12. Visited Paris. - Double Meh.
*13. Watched a lightning storm at sea. - Thankfully we passed through a narrow gap between two huge thunder storms. At night.
*14. Taught yourself an art from scratch. - Er, lots of things are considered "art". I taught myself most of what I know.
    15. Adopted a child. - Might happen some day.
*16. Had food poisoning. - Uck.
    17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty. - I'd like to some day, but it requires visiting New York City.
*18. Grown your own vegetables. - Used to have a damn nice garden in WV. Here in FL, gardening is more complicated.
    19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France. - Meh. See #12.
    20. Slept on an overnight train. - Been on plenty of trains. Never an overnight train though.
    *21. Had a pillow fight. - Who hasn't?
    22. Hitch hiked. - Nope.
*23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill. - I call them "mental health" days.
*24. Built a snow fort. - I feel sorry for people who grew up in the deep south and never got to feel a snowball thwack against the back of their head.
*25. Held a lamb. - In my belly.
*26. Gone skinny dipping. - Duh. Besides, I have my own pool.
    27. Run a Marathon. - Hah!
    28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice. - Maybe some day. My brother did, and said the canals stink like nothing else.
*29. Seen a total eclipse. - Built numerous little contraptions to watch it, from pin-holes in shoe boxes, to double-layered exposed film viewers.
*30. Watched a sunrise or sunset. - Oh, come on. I would bet it would be less common not to have seen a sunrise or sunset. After all, they happen every day.
*31. Hit a home run. - In the park. In T-ball.
*32. Been on a cruise. - I hate cruises, but I've been on two.
*33. Seen Niagara Falls in person. - A few times. Its wet.
    34. Visited the birthplace of your ancestors. - I have a trip planned to Greece sometime before I turn 40.
*35. Seen an Amish community. - They have nice quilts and furniture.
*36. Taught yourself a new language. - I'm assuming that programming languages count.

    38. Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person. - Meh.
*39. Gone rock (wall) climbing. - A few times. My buddy is an avid climber. I am much better at belaying than actually climbing though.
    40. Seen Michelangelo’s David. - Some day.
*41. Sung karaoke. - Only after a few drinks.
    42. Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt. - Definitely on the list.
    43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant. - No, but I've bought beer for strangers.
    44. Visited Africa. - Also on the list.

*52. Kissed in the rain. - And I'm not even that romantic.
*53. Played in the mud. - I also feel sorry for anyone who's parents were so over-protective that they never dove head-first into a worm-filled puddle.
*54. Gone to a drive-in theater. - That's our typical Friday night date.
    55. Been in a movie. - Not that I'm aware of.
    56. Visited the Great Wall of China. - On the list.

    59. Visited Russia. - Hmmm. I'd like to. Although where I work it might raise some eyebrows.
    60. Served at a soup kitchen. - No, and now I feel guilty.
    61. Sold Girl Scout Cookies. - No, but I do admit to eating more of them than I ought to.
    62. Gone whale watching. - I'd love to watch whales sometime, but I'm not sure I'd be able to handle being around filthy stinking hippies for that long.
*63. Got flowers for no reason. - Well, I've never seen a reason, but they sure do cheer my wife up.
*64. Donated blood, platelets or plasma. - Once. I hate needles.
    65. Gone sky diving. - Meh.
    66. Visited a Nazi Concentration Camp. - On the list. History is important.
*67. Bounced a check. - If you made it through college without bouncing a check, you either had more money than you needed, or were really boring.

*73. Stood in Times Square. - And it took a week to get the smell of piss out of my clothes.

    78. Been on a speeding motorcycle. - Never been on a motorcycle. Wife says not until I have a few million dollars more worth of life insurance.
*79. Seen the Grand Canyon in person. - For the first time a year ago. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to really explore, so I'll go back again some day.
    80. Published a book. - Nope.
    81. Visited the Vatican. - Again with the Europe stuff.
    82. Bought a brand new car. - No, I prefer used cars. More cost-effective.

*88. Had chickenpox. - A miserable right of passage for a child.
    89. Saved someone’s life. - I dunno. Maybe. Its hard to say if they would have died for sure.
    90. Sat on a jury. - Never gotten the call, but I've always wanted to.
*91. Met someone famous. - Famous is relative, of course. I'm related to a soap opera star though :)

*98. Owned a cell phone. - Was this list written in the 80s?
*99. Been stung by a bee. - And a dozen times by a single hornet. I prefer bees cuz they can only get you once.
*100. Read an entire book in one day. - It gets expensive. My wife is far worse than me though... she has already read $80 worth of books this week.
