    Oh Noes! Gun Stores Selling Out Comment

    And by selling out, I mean they are running out of handguns and scary-looking rifles.

    All I noticed at my local gun shop and range is that they were doing some re-arranging in the store to make the sales floor a little more attractive (it was a jumbled mess before.) There were still cases full of handguns, and EBRs on the wall.

    I'm sure sales are up, but I'm not rushing out to grab the first black rifle I see. I am, however, keeping a close eye on local gun boards. The prices don't seem to be going through the roof just yet.

    While I\'m certainly not a proponent of panic-buying, I do feel better knowing I have a couple stripped lowers floating around.

    It\'s also worth noting that price-gouging has started as well; between 11pm on Nov. 4 and the morning of the 5th, Spike\'s Tactical raised the price on stripped lowers from about $120 to $180.

    Yeah, I've seen a little bit of either price gouging or free market capitalism, depending on how you view the world :)

    The thing is, I have enough firepower for just about any eventuality. The only reason I'd want an AR or AK is because there is a good chance the gov't will tell me I can't have one, and that's a pretty good reason to get one.

    I'm fortunately in the position that I just need compliance parts to complete the receivers I have on hand. So prices on those aren't being affected badly. I have enough parts kits and components to build 5-6 more rifles if I set my mind to it. So I'm not worried as much about stocking up on guns. Magazines, ammo and spares are my priority.

    I guess my sitting on parts kits for the past several years is paying off.
