I recently asked the good folks at Florida's DoACS/DOL if there had been a response from South Carolina's SLED regarding the possibility of concealed carry reciprocity between SC and FL. If you remember, I posted our original discussion about a month ago.
Here's the latest response:Good afternoon, Mr. Morris:
No, I have not received any word as of yet from authorities in South Carolina. I telephoned SLED yesterday morning, but I have not yet received a telephone call in return.
I wish I had better news to share with you, but this is all I have at the moment. I will keep you posted.

Keep on 'em! I know they are resisting this however they can, but the law has taken the decision out of SLED's hands, and clarified that they MUST grant reciprocity to states that have similar laws (which Florida does.) There are indeed some semantic differences, but nothing substantial. Any delay now on the part of SLED is pure stubbornness. |
